Before beginning the installation and configuring of your new theme, you must first have WordPress already installed on a server.

For information in regard to installing the WordPress platform, please see the WordPress Codex –
http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress. Once you have setup a copy of WordPress,
there are two ways you can go about installing the theme:

1. FTP Upload. Unzip the download and upload the theme directory */themefolder/ into your WordPress themes directory /wp-content/themes/
   • Login to your WordPress web site’s Administration Interface
   • Simply navigate to Appearance › Themes
     
   • Locate the theme thumbnail and click the Activate button
2. WordPress Upload.This is definitely the easier route for most.
   • Login to your WordPress web site’s Administration Interface
   • Simply navigate to Appearance › Themes
     
   • Click the Add New button
     
   • Click the Upload Theme button
     
   • Click the Choose File button (depending on your web browser, this may be worded
     differently), locate the still zipped theme folder and click “Install Now” to begin the installation.
     Note: WordPress will now upload the theme from your computer to the server, and install it for you.
     
   • Wait for the success message, then click on the Activate link once the installation is finished.
     

Note: To continue setting up your theme, please press Customize.

Demo Content (optional)

After you have installed the theme successfully, you can optionally import the supplied demo data in order to get a feel for things. If you’re interested in importing it, continue reading…

Importing Demo Content

This will help you get started, in case you are running on a fresh WordPress installation with no content at all.

If you prefer to pre-load our demo content into your theme to get a head start, you may use our demo content file.

The demo file cannot setup the theme or widgets for you, so please continue read relevant sections for both.

1. Go to Tools > Import
   
2. Click “WordPress”to install the WordPress importer.
3. On ‘Import WordPress’ screen click ‘choose file’ and select the file /themefolder/Dummy data/xxxx-xxxx-demo_content.xml
   
4. Click Upload file and import and wait for it to import

Importing Theme Settings

1. Go to Apprearence > Customizer Manager
   
2. Click “WordPress”to install the WordPress importer.
3. On ‘Customizer Manager’ screen click ‘choose file’ and select the file /themefolder/Dummy data/xxxx-xxxx-hcs-theme_settings.json
   
4. Click Upload file and import and wait for it to import

Importing Widgets Settings

Theme provides widgets settings file as well, so you can easily import widgets settings. Use “Widget Settings Importer/Exporter” plugin for importing widgets settings file (xxxx-xxxx-demo_
widgets.wie) provided with demo content.

* XXX-XXX can be any theme. Like it can be “Hybopress-Basic” or any other theme you purchased from us.
